moon & crossroads
with kitchen prose, gutter rhymes, and divers
Hey, I'm Ria! My main occupation is student, but my side job is being a moon princess like Sailor Moon. I currently live in New Jersey and study history and art history with a concentration in women's and gender studies at college. I focus primarily on the age of revolution in France and impressionist art. I'm also a photographer and spent two summer sessions at the School of Visual Arts in New York City studying it. I plan on going into museum curation and archival work with my degrees.
But enough about official school junk. I spend way too much money on comic books every Wednesday and my netflix queue is overflowing. My book collection is taking up most of my room and I'm running out of shelves. I collect cameras, comic books, Star Trek memorabilia, and Disneyana. I want to start collecting animal bones, succulents, and absinthe spoons. I cry over The Lord of the Rings far more than I want to think about.
While all of these things are important facets of my being, we're all here for the fashion portion of my blog. I've always had an interest in fashion, stemming from my obsession with Japanese subcultures and growing from there. Until very recently, I never let myself explore my own style very much because I thought I wasn't good enough for it. Fashion is yet another way I express myself, but it's something I was too afraid to share with people until now.
I'm using moon & crossroads as a method of allowing my style to evolve and manifest in a visual and documentary way. In addition to outfits of the day, I want to do moodboards and inspiration posts, beauty reviews and looks, and also show parts of my life!
